Overview

LLDAP is a small, lightweight LDAP server designed for directory services with minimal overhead compared to full-featured implementations like OpenLDAP.

Basics

LLDAP provides a lightweight LDAP server with a user-friendly web interface for managing users and groups. The configuration file is at /opt/lldap/lldap_config.toml. Optional SMTP settings for password resets can be configured in your Saltbox inventory using lldap_role_smtp_* variables.

Applications can connect using host lldap, port 3890 (LDAP) or 17170 (Web UI). To reset LLDAP, run sb install lldap-reset.

Role Defaults

    Avoid overriding variables ending in _default

    When overriding variables that end in _default (like lldap_docker_envs_default), you replace the entire default configuration. Future updates that add new default values will not be applied to your setup, potentially breaking functionality.

    Instead, use the corresponding _custom variable (like lldap_docker_envs_custom) to add your changes. Custom values are merged with defaults, ensuring you receive updates.
